Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Customer Experience & Quality Manager, the Quality Technician role requires an adaptable quality professional with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to various tasks.

This is a split role where the individual will support inspection activities in the production areas, assist administratively with the AS9100/ISO 9001 quality system, and work directly with the health and safety team as one of the primary safety officers.


This role will require a candidate who is familiar with or willing to learn about ISO 9001/AS9100 and is comfortable operating in a flexible quality role within a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Responsibilities
  • Be able to learn and perform all major inspection activities including:
    • Stamp checks, 
    • Tufting checks
    • Face-up & Face down checks
    • Pre-shear checks
    • Shipping checks
  • Identify and contain quality issues and help in completing or coordinating repair work.
  • Liaise with Design Department to monitor any specific concerns on projects.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions. 
  • Create quality records for defective product.

Safety Officer Activities
  • Perform safety audits of production workspaces.
  • Oversee 5S system and continue to drive improvements therein.
  • Report safety incidents and take part in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Assist in performing structured risk assessments related to workplace safety.
  • Assist Safety Committee leadership in ensuring compliance with applicable workplace safety requirements and regulations.
  • Take part in safety committee meetings and assist in safety related projects.
Job Requirements
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other related QMS standards is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a quality role is highly desirable.
  • Some experience in quality and manufacturing settings is desired.
  • Ability to pass a color vision assessment (such as the Farnsworth Munsell or equivalent hue test) and accurately distinguish colors for color matching and quality evaluation.

  • Must be highly organized, self-directed and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work with others to solve problems. 
  • Ability to interpret sketches, renderings and applicable design material where relevant to the inspection of product once training is complete.
  • Must be detailed when recording information and maintaining records.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work safely with wool
